Another NXT Star Out With Serious Injury
One of NXT’s up-and-coming stars is set to miss considerable time from the ring as the injury issues in WWE’s developmental brand continue to mount up.
On the most recent edition of NXT television, Sol Ruca was the victim of an off-screen attack that was apparently done to write her off television due to injury.
Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer confirmed that Sol Ruca has torn her ACL and as a result will be missing from the ring for some time.
While it is unknown how Ruca’s injury came about, Meltzer noted that there are those blaming the training regime in the Performance Center for a spate of recent injuries that include one suffered by Nikkita Lyons:
“There’s a lot of injuries there. A lot of people are blaming the strength training – that they’re doing heavy lifts as opposed to strengthening surrounding muscles to prevent injuries.
“People have brought up to me, there’s a lot of injuries, especially on the women’s side – there’s a lot of women’s injuries right now in NXT.”
There was an apparent injury on NXT television on the 25th of April as Indi Hartwell took a bad landing which saw her escorted to the back for medical treatment before limping back to the ring to retain her NXT Women’s Championship against Roxanne Perez and Tiffany Stratton.
