Andrade Reveals Heartbreaking Truth About Split From WWE’s Charlotte Flair
Andrade El Idolo and Charlotte Flair were one of the power couples in wrestling.
They married in 2022 after being engaged two years ago. At the time, the Mexican superstar was signed to AEW, whereas The Queen worked in WWE.
In January 2024, El Idolo re-joined the Stamford promotion by entering the men’s Royal Rumble match as a surprise participant.
During a separate interview, he revealed that he quit AEW to be close to his wife. However, a few months later, Charlotte filed for divorce, which was finalized in October 2024.
Both wrestlers continued working in the same company for a few more months until Andrade was released on September 13.
Recently, the 36-year-old confirmed that his ex-wife did not influence that decision in any way.
Andrade Takes Ownership Of His Divorce From Charlotte Flair
While appearing for an interview recently on WrestleBinge, Andrade took ownership of his separation from the 14-time women’s champion.
The host brought up the infamous SmackDown promo involving Charlotte Flair and Tiffany Stratton ahead of WrestleMania 41, where Stratton took a jab at her by bringing up her three divorces.
She is amazing. Charlotte is amazing. She’s an amazing woman and an amazing person. She was an amazing wife.
It was my fault. She didn’t lose me — I lost her. I did something, or maybe I didn’t do something.
Andrade El Idolo also discussed fans constantly targeting Charlotte about her multiple failed marriages, claiming that it was unwarranted.
People talk on Twitter and Instagram and everywhere, but it’s like, hey, I know she’s been married a couple of times, but I’m a man and I respect her, and I wish her nothing but the best.
After going their separate ways, the former couple has been focusing on their individual journeys.
Charlotte, along with Alexa Bliss, is on the hunt to reclaim the recently lost tag team titles. On the other hand, Andrade began wrestling after his lawyers were able to negotiate a deal with WWE.
