Andrade Gives Major Update On His Situation With WWE
Andrade is currently dealing with a legal battle with WWE.
WWE fired Andrade in September 2025, reportedly due to multiple wellness policy violations. He made a surprise return to AEW on the October 1, 2025, Dynamite, attacking Kenny Omega and joining the Don Callis Family.
After this appearance, WWE sent AEW a cease‑and‑desist letter, claiming Andrade’s TV return violated his active non‑compete, and AEW pulled him from TV and shelved creative plans.
Andrade Is Negotiating With WWE
Speaking to Los Protagonistas, Andrade recently gave a major update on his situation with WWE.
He stated that he was unaware of the 12-month non-compete clause until WWE enforced it upon him.
He could take his case to court, but he doesn’t want to waste his or WWE’s precious time in the court proceedings.
He added that his lawyers have reached an arrangement with WWE, and they’re waiting for WWE to officialize it.
Amidst all this chaos, he’s kept a positive attitude and is enjoying his free time away from the ring.
“The contract I signed, the lawyer did not realize a clause of 12 months without competition… At first, I didn’t have clause, I could fight leaving WWE. Then the clause came when they saw my debut in AEW.”
“I’m going to be 3 months inactive, and I can’t compete worldwide… My lawyers are already talking to the WWE lawyers. They have reached a good arrangement… I think I have a date and my lawyer too, but it remains for WWE to officially sign it.”
“We can fight, we can go to court, but the lawyers told me the process may be longer… They are trying to negotiate so as not to go to court.”
“Well, now it’s nothing more than getting ready… waking up, having dinner, training, going to the beach, sunbathing, more than anything, not thinking about that.”
