Andrade Reflects On Wrestling Sacrifices As AEW Future Looks Uncertain
Andrade has let fans into a more personal side as the AEW star faces up to a year out of action.
The situation surrounding Andrade can best be described as a total and complete shambles. After a stop/start run in AEW where he failed to live up to his promise, Andrade returned to WWE at the 2024 Royal Rumble, seemingly getting what he wanted for his career.
However, less than two years later, it was all change again. Andrade was seemingly fired by WWE and escorted from a SmackDown taping, with questions surrounding any non-compete clause remaining unanswered. Fans thought they were answered beyond any doubt when Andrade made his shocking re-debut for AEW, where he attacked Keny Omega. And that’s when WWE took action.
It now seems Andrade is subject to a one-year non-compete clause, as he was fired by WWE for cause. A former WWE star thinks Andrade could win his case if he took his former employer to court. Whether or not that happens remains to be seen.
Andrade Talks Family In New Video
Now, taking to social media, Andrade has reflected on the personal sacrifices he’s made to pursue his wrestling dreams. The former WWE United States Champion posted a video accompanied by a caption which read:
On October 18, 2003, My debut as a professional wrestler. My first paycheck was $4 dls. 80 pesos Mexicanos I was only 13 years old. All I cared about was wrestling and enjoying the business. I invested so much of my time in the business.
When I was in Saudi Arabia, my mother passed away, and I didn’t get back in time to say goodbye. Championship match vs Finn Balor. This year 2025 something similar happened to me in Europe: my father almost died, and I wasn’t there anyway, and more. These are things you do because l love the business and this happens in many companies.
