Alexa Bliss Taking Break From WWE
Don’t expect to see much of Alexa Bliss for the foreseeable future.
Alexa Bliss had a big match at the 2023 Royal Rumble PLE when she challenged Bianca Belair for the RAW Women’s Championship. Bliss failed to win the title and hasn’t been seen on WWE programming since.
And according to a report by PWInsider, that appears to be by design.
The report notes that WWE knew Bliss was stepping away from wrestling before her match with Bianca Belair was even finalized. As for the tease involving Uncle Howdy, those plans are being shelved for the time being.
No timeline has been given for Alexa Bliss’s absence; however, it has been noted by WrestlingNews that she is no longer being advertised for any events up to and immediately following Elimination Chamber.
Over the past several months, Bliss has shifted back and forth between wrestling as her “normal” self and a supernatural sort of alter ego, not unlike what she played when she first started associating with Bray Wyatt.
The Elimination Chamber 2023 PLE takes place on February 18th, 2023 in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Two Elimination Chamber matches have been announced, one for the United States Championship and one to determine the #1 contender for the RAW Women’s Championship.
The confirmed participants for the women’s EC match are: Asuka, Liv Morgan, Nikki Cross, Raquel Gonzalez, Natalya, and Carmella.
