Alexa Bliss Opens Up About Working With “Creative Genius” Bray Wyatt

Alexa Bliss Bray Wyatt WWE

Alexa Bliss has fondly recalled her time alongside Bray Wyatt.

In the summer of 2020, after being attacked by Bray Wyatt’s alter ego, The Fiend, Alexa Bliss joined forces with the mysterious star. This saw Bliss become fully entrenched in Wyatt’s Firefly Funhouse and use his Sister Abigail finisher in matches.

Following WrestleMania 37, Bliss declared that while Wyatt was her mentor, she needed to move on and instead focused her attention on her doll Lily.

At this point, Wyatt disappeared from television and was released several months later. However, a new version of Wyatt returned in late 2022, but unfortunately, the star’s new vision was never fully realised as he sadly passed away on August 24, 2023.

Alexa Bliss Remembers Bray Wyatt

During a new interview with In The Kliq, Bliss reflected on her time working with Bray Wyatt and what she learned from the former World Champion. She revealed that when their partnership began, Wyatt gave her an extensive list of homework to get her fully invested in her new character.

Bliss went on to call Wyatt a “creative genius” and someone who saw the world of WWE differently than anyone else.

“I always say it was the most fun I’ve ever had in my career, because it was such a fun challenge. When I first joined with Bray, I remember thinking, ‘I don’t wanna be the one to mess this up.’

Because he had such a cool thing going with the Firefly Fun House and the Wyatt Family and the whole thing. So for me, I was stepping into his world and I wasn’t gonna be the one to bring it down.

I remember when I first started working with him, he gave me this whole – because he does deep dives on his characters, deep, deep dives, all this research – he was like, ‘Watch these documentaries, watch these scary movies, watch this, take notes on this.’ And it really made me appreciate the fact that it wasn’t just doing research on your character – he created a whole world for his character.

And that was something that I took with me, you have to know your character inside and out, you have to know where they grew up, you have to know the world that they live in, you have to know what is reality to them and not just what we see in front of us. And that was something that really opened my eyes character-wise.

He was a creative genius, and he saw the world of WWE in a different way than anybody else ever has, and he created this whole alternate universe within the WWE universe. And that was something that I found so fascinating, his creativity, and any time that he wants to talk about creative, it was like you had to keep up, because his mind was just going.

It was so cool to not only witness but be a part of. And the fact that we’re continuing his story with the Wyatt Sicks and we have the Horrors of the Wyatt Sicks House at the Universals, I think it’s so cool.

I just love that the WWE as a whole is keeping his vision alive and keeping him alive. I think that he would be super happy with everything that we’re doing to keep it going.”

Meanwhile, it’s been announced that Alexa Bliss and Charlotte Flair will defend their Women’s Tag Team Championship against Sol Ruca and Zaria. There had been speculation the match would be added to Crown Jewel, but that was proven not to be the case.

Also on SmackDown, the Wyatt Sicks hold the WWE Tag Team Championship after beating the Street Profits back in July.
