Alex Shelley Shares Heartfelt Video Following WWE Debut

Alex Shelley & Chris Sabin entrance on WWE SmackDown

Alex Shelley is now a WWE Superstar.

After months of speculation, Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin finally made their WWE debuts on the October 18th episode of SmackDown.

In the hours before the show, the Motor City Machine Guns were shown signing their deals with Nick Aldis before the SmackDown General Manager made some changes to the show. This saw the debutants take on Berto & Angel and A-Town Down Under.

When all was said and done it was MCMG who got the win, and they’ll now face DIY for the right to challenge for the Tag Team Titles. DIY scored the win in an earlier Triple Threat Match, seeing off Pretty Deadly and the Street Profits.

Alex Shelley Gives Thanks

In a video on social media, Shelley reflected on his SmackDown debut alongside Sabin, before giving thanks to everyone who has supported him on his wrestling journey.

“I’ve kind of shied away from posting for a little bit because it’s been a busy week and I knew I wanted to make this video. It’s something that I wanted to do, want to express gratitude to everybody that’s supported me, throughout not just my pro wrestling career, but my life — and that’s friends, that’s co-workers, and that’s family,” he began.

“What I was able to able to accomplish last Friday night on ‘SmackDown’ was a dream come true. I can now say that I’m not just a physical therapy clinician, I’m not just a strength and therapy coach, I’m not just a friend or a brother, or a punk rocker or an artist, but now I’m a WWE Superstar.

To be able to verbalize that has a very, very deep and profound power here [points to the heart] and, again, I couldn’t have done it without the support of so many people, [at] so many different points in my life.”

Shelley began his career back in 2002 before going on to enjoy several spells with the likes of Ring of Honor, TNA, and NJPW among others. The star began teaming with Chris Sabin in 2006, and the duo quickly became one of the most highly regarded tag teams in the world.
