Aleister Black Reveals WWE Retirement Plans
Aleister Black has not long returned to WWE but already his thoughts are turning to when he might hang up his boots.
Mystery first began to build when SmackDown took place in Barcelona, as a 15-second video that featured a dark room with some smoke filling the screen aired. There was no person in the video, but the number 4 appeared.
On SmackDown in Fort Worth, Texas, the waiting was over. Former WWE Champion The Miz took to the ring to complain about not being respected. It became very clear, very quickly, where this was going as the arena was soon bathed in darkness and familiar music hit. A close-up of candles preceded Aleister Black slowly rising from the floor as his return to WWE was complete.
Speaking to LeSport10.com, the former AEW star explained what being back in WWE meant to him and how lucky he is to be in his position:
WWE is more popular than ever. There was never a time in wrestling when WWE was so popular around the world. There is no better time for someone like me to be in the position I am.
So, I want to do everything because in the end, you only have limited time in your life, and I’m very lucky to be able to do this [again]. Few people have this opportunity. I want to do as much as I can because I don’t want to leave the wrestling scene by thinking that I should have said yes to this or that I should have done that.
Aleister Black Has Lofty Goals In WWE
While Aleister Black might be more motivated than ever to be part of WWE and set out his goals as he puts a timeframe on how long he has left as an active wrestler:
Headline WrestleMania and win a title. I think every wrestler who has a goal should aim for this if they want to reach the highest possible level in our industry.
That is the goal, but it doesn’t matter which title, it doesn’t matter which opponent, it doesn’t matter how big the rivalry is, it doesn’t matter how big the story is, what matters is that I want to accomplish everything I can during the time I have left as a wrestler, which I hope will between 5-8 years. I feel good, I think I’m in the best shape of my life. Mentally, I feel so good.
Aleister Black recently missed out on a place in the next round of the King of the Ring tournament as Randy Orton picked up a win in a four-way match, which also included Carmelo Hayes and LA Knight.
