AJ Styles vs. John Cena For The WWE World Title Set For Royal Rumble PPV

Tonight’s edition of Smackdown Live saw the return of John Cena. The fifteen-time World Champion kicked off the show to announce that he’ll be facing the winner of Smackdown’s triple threat main event match for the WWE World Title at the Royal Rumble pay-per-view. It takes place on Sunday, January 29th at San Antonio’s Alamadome.

AJ Styles retained his championship by defeating Dolph Ziggler and Baron Corbin, which means we’ll once again see Styles and Cena square off with the WWE World Title on the line.

Smackdown ended with Cena entering the ring to congratulate Styles. Both men shook hands and stared each other down as the last Smackdown episode of 2016 went off the air.
