AJ Styles Makes Bold Promise Ahead Of John Cena WWE Match
The WWE Universe wanted John Cena vs. AJ Styles, and they are getting it at Crown Jewel 2025.
Previously, The Champ had noted that Styles wouldn’t be a part of his retirement tour. To pay homage to him, John Cena hit Logan Paul with a Styles Clash at Clash in Paris.
However, Cena took to social media to suggest the match anyway, and fans reacted positively to it. WWE announced it for Crown Jewel, and later, it was revealed that WWE always had this match in the works, but used social media to promote it.
AJ Styles’ bold promise for the match against John Cena was announced on WWE RAW
The Phenomenal One and The Last Real Champion will not meet before the match at Crown Jewel. In fact, the Stamford-based promotion used social media to promote the match because Cena did not have any live event dates ahead of the premium live event.
On the latest episode of WWE RAW, AJ Styles announced that Cena and he do not need a story to step inside the ring. They will work together one last time, and this time, the stalwarts will leave everything in the ring.
Now that I have got a second to talk, this match at Crown Jewel between AJ Styles and John Cena, we don’t need a story. It writes itself. You got two men who will dance for the last time, and I promise you this: we will leave it all in that ring. It will kick a**!

This match essentially is babyface vs. babyface. Interestingly, such a match is always elevated by having one of the babyfaces turn heel. In this situation, it is suggested that The Phenomenal One will turn heel on Cena during the match so that when The Champ defeats Styles, it can be showcased as him overcoming something.
