AJ Lee Addresses WWE In-Ring Comeback, When Return Was Agreed To
AJ Lee made some interesting remarks about her WWE return match and when she decided to come back.
There was a lot of anticipation for the mixed tag team match at WWE Wrestlepalooza as AJ Lee teamed up with husband CM Punk to beat Becky Lynch and her husband, Seth Rollins.
The four superstars had a very entertaining match that went 30 minutes long, which was the longest match on the show.
It was a very successful return for Lee, who picked up the win for her team by making Lynch tap out to the dreaded Black Widow submission.
On Instagram, AJ Lee thanked her fellow superstars for the match (while using their real names, not WWE names) and the fans for the support. She also included several photos from Wrestlepalooza.
A chaotic fairytale so far. I’m proud of myself for being scared but doing it anyway, after ten years of retirement, on one month’s notice. I guess I still got it. I’m so grateful to Rebecca, Colby, Jess, TJ, and my hot husband Phil for taking such good care of me. And Larry for sharing his dressing room. I’m feeling all the love and support from you guys, my wonderful weirdos, it means the world.

As noted by Lee in the message above, she took the match on one month’s notice, meaning she didn’t have a long time to prepare for it.
AJ Lee Remains Humble As A WWE Superstar
While speaking at the Wrestlepalooza post-show, AJ Lee talked about how others in WWE have made her feel, and she showed that she is a very humble person.
I mean, everyone was so welcoming and so kind and so complementary in a way that made me feel like, oh! I did something and that it meant something to these wonderfully talented women. To be any tiny piece of their journey is so humbling.
I’m so proud of them, like a mama, and they’re wonderful and I’m happy to be in their presence in the locker room but, the evolution of the women has been the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen. They deserved it 10 years ago, they deserve it now, they deserve even more in the next 10 years.
Lee also stated that, “everything hurts way more than I remember” since it was her first WWE match in ten years.
