AJ Lee Makes First Statement Since WWE Return

AJ Lee is officially a WWE superstar again, and she shared a social media message with her “weirdos” to celebrate her return.

After more than a decade away, former WWE Divas Champion AJ Lee was back in a WWE ring on SmackDown in Chicago, which is where she lives with her WWE superstar husband, CM Punk.

CM Punk returned to WWE in November 2023 after nearly a decade away from the company, and now his wife has joined him.

In the SmackDown main event segment, Seth Rollins taunted CM Punk from a distance while Becky Lynch slapped Punk repeatedly, just like she did on Raw. Punk said he wouldn’t hit a woman, but he knows somebody who would.

The classic “Light It Up” song played for AJ Lee as the Chicago crowd exploded. Lee skipped down to the ring, where she smiled at her husband at ringside. The fans chanted “Holy s**t” as Lee posed on the ropes.

When she got into the ring, Lee tackled Lynch and unloaded on her with punches. Lynch tried to leave, but Lee held her hair. Lee tackled Lynch again and hit some more punches. Lee smacked Lynch hard in the face. Punk stared at Rollins, who made his way down to ringside and retreated with Lynch.

CM Punk got into the ring with his wife, AJ Lee, and they shared a big hug. Punk looked so happy to see his wife back in the ring again, and that is how SmackDown ended.

AJ Lee’s Message For Her “Weirdos”

It is expected that AJ Lee’s return will lead to a tag team match at WWE Wrestlepalooza where she teams up with CM Punk against World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins and his wife, Becky Lynch, who is the Women’s Intercontinental Champion.

Writing on X/Twitter, AJ Lee shared a message for her fans, whom she likes to call weirdos.

You’ve had my back for a decade. This run is for you, my wonderful weirdos.

WWE fans won’t have to wait too long to see AJ Lee again since she’s expected to be on the September 8th edition of Raw, along with CM Punk, Seth Rollins & Becky Lynch, so they can make their Wrestlepalooza match official.
