AEW & WWE Star Spotted Together At Newcastle vs. Liverpool
There might be a wrestling war being fought, but there is no such bad blood between a WWE and AEW star as they take in a game of football together.
WWE has targeted AEW with a series of counter-programming moves. All In Texas was surrounded over its weekend by three WWE shows, while WWE will host Wrestlepalooza on the same night as All Out. Wrestlepalooza will air on ESPN’s streaming service as part of a new deal with the company and is expected to be headlined by Brock Lesnar taking on John Cena.
But while fighting might be the talk of the boardroom, among the talent themselves, there’s nothing stronger than friendship.
At the English Premier League’s Newcastle United vs. Liverpool match, that friendship was spotted in action as WWE’s Sami Zayn was spotted with the missing AEW star, Pac. Pac is a Newcastle native, and the two stars were spotted wearing the famous black and white in the home supporters’ end. Zayn sported a classic 1995/96 shirt with the Newcastle Brown Ale logo while Pac wore the current season’s strip.
Pac has not been seen in AEW for quite some time, while Zayn wrestled on a WWE live event in the city on August 24th, where he teamed with Jacob Fatu and Jimmy Uso to defeat JC Mateo, Tonga Loa, and Solo Sikoa.

Did WWE’s Sami Zayn Bring Good Luck For The Magpies?
Over the years, Newcastle and Liverpool have played out some Premier League classics, and Monday night’s game was no different. The match sizzled with bad blood over the saga of Liverpool’s pursuit of Newcastle’s star striker Alexander Isak, who has been refusing to play for the Magpies as he looks to force a move to the reigning English champions.
Newcastle dominated the game but were left a man down when Anthony Gordon was sent off for a challenge that grazed the leg of Liverpool captain Virgil Van Dijk. The officials let Newcastle down again later in the game when a clear penalty wasn’t given. Despite having ten men for most of the match, Newcastle fought back from 2-0 down to equalise late to make it 2-2. For some reason known only to the referee, eleven minutes of injury time were added, with Liverpool winning the game 10 minutes into the extra time.
