AEW Worlds End: The Babes Of Wrath Retain Women’s World Tag Team Championship
The Babes of Wrath vs. Mercedes Mone and Athena marked the first title defense of the AEW Women’s World Tag Team Championship.
Willow Nightingale and Harley Cameron won the titles by beating Tony Storm and Mina Shirakawa in the tournament finals at Dynamite: Winter Is Coming.
The Babes Of Wrath Add To Mercedes Mone’s Misery At AEW Worlds End
Athena and Mercedes Mone brought their veteran experience into the battle.
Both exchanged tags several times to dominate Cameron before she tagged Nightingale in.
Nightingale brought the crowd into the match by hitting a flurry of offense on Mone. Athena tagged herself in to dominate Nightingale.
Willow tagged in Harley. Cameron hit a Double Crucifix Bomb on both her opponents for an unsuccessful pin.
Athena nailed Cameron with a Stunner. Mone applied a submission, but Nightingale retaliated with a Death Valley Driver.
Both Athena and Mone accidentally attacked each other amid the confusion, giving Willow the advantage.
Harley hit her signature move on Athena. Mone took Harley out with the Mone Maker. Mone went for the Mone Maker again on Willow, but she reversed it for a successful pinfall.
The champions celebrated with their belts as Mone mourned another loss. Athena was in Mone’s face.
