AEW World Title Match Set For Winter Is Coming

MJF now knows who the first challenger for his AEW World Championship will be at Winter Is Coming following Dynamite.

An AEW World Title Eliminator Tournament has been taking place in recent weeks to find the next contender for the company’s World Championship. Heading into Dynamite in Chicago, the final was set between Ethan Page of The Firm and former FTW Champion Ricky Starks.

Starks had to overcome Lance Archer and Brian Cage to make it to the final while Ethan Page defeated Eddie Kingston and Bandido. Going into Full Gear, many may have expected that if MJF captured the AEW World Title then he could end up facing Page due to the issues surrounding MJF and The Firm. But the wrinkle of MJF and William Regal now being aligned proved to be a swerve away from that idea.

The final between Page and Starks saw ‘Absolute’ nail his opponent with three Spears to pick up the victory. Ricky Starks has challenged for the TNT, AEW Tag Team, and FTW Championships during his time in the promotion but he will now have his first shot at the AEW World Championship against MJF at Winter Is Coming on December 14th in Garland, Texas.
