AEW Women’s World Tag Team Titles To Be Defended At World’s End

AEW Women's Tag Team Title belt

Tony Khan introduced the AEW Women’s World Tag Team Championships a few weeks back, following the ever-growing women’s division of the company. A long-drawn-out tournament was then announced to crown the inaugural champions.

The team of Willow Nightingale and Harley Cameron, officially known as the Babes of Wrath, were crowned the winners last week after they defeated the Timeless Love Bombs in the finals of the tournament.

Tonight, the two finalists teamed together in an eight-woman tag team match but Nightingale was pinned by Mercedes Mone after Athena had attacked one-half of the tag team champions.

Mone and Athena were also part of the tag team tournament but were defeated by Babes of Wrath in the first round. However, following their win tonight, the two were over the moon.

Athena stated that having pinned one-half of the AEW Women’s Tag Team Champions, they deserve a shot at the titles and challenged Babes of Wrath to a match at World’s End, which was later made official by Tony Khan.
