AEW PPV events could soon have a new home.

With AEW’s current television rights deal set to expire before the end of 2024, speculation has been rife about the future home of the company but recent comments from Tony Khan have hinted that his company are closing in on a big money new deal with Warner Bros Discovery following ‘exciting talks’.

Rumours suggest that a four-year deal worth up to $170 million to Khan’s organisation is close, with Warner Bros set to receive non-exclusive streaming rights to all major AEW events including the likes of All In and Forbidden Door.

During a recent edition of ‘Mat Men Podcast‘, Andrew Zarian revealed that AEW pay-per-view events could be screened on Warner Bros Discovery’s streaming service MAX as part of the deal, beginning as early as January 2025:

“They will be on MAX in January. They could do it sooner but I do know that they are planning on January. I do know that pay-per-views are going to be on there.

They don’t have an exclusivity on the pay-per-views, so it will also be available other places. It’s like WWE is, you can still order those pay-per-views that are available on Peacock.”

AEW Boss Khan Unlikely To Headline PPV Event

One man who looks unlikely to headline a pay-per-view on MAX is AEW President Tony Khan.

The 41 year-old was involved in a physical altercation with Jack Perry and The Elite on the 24th April edition of AEW Dynamite, but insists that he isn’t seeking in-ring retribution after he was left in a neck brace following an attack.

Instead, Khan has confirmed that he has no plans at all to step into the ring in the near future.
