AEW To Make Production Changes

Tony Khan AEW

AEW is making changes.

On October 2nd, it was announced that All Elite Wrestling had reached a new media rights agreement with Warner Bros. Discovery. The deal is said to be for the next three years with the addition of a fourth option year that can be exercised by WBD.

The deal will see the two companies work together more closely than ever, and that means some changes to AEW broadcasts. This will include using the new Live Media Group IP-based mobile facilities from 2025.

During an interview with Mark J Burns of SVG, AEW’s Head of Global Production Mike Mansury discussed the impending improvements.

“The idea was getting more IP-based with everything that we are doing. How can we get AEW to be more towards the cutting edge? That’s always the challenge with our line of work. We’re not quite sport; we’re not quite entertainment. We’re a lovely hybrid.

How do we take our form of content and intertwine technology into it that leaves us at the cutting edge and allows us to be trendsetters as opposed to followers?

Starting in 2025, you’ll see more of a sports-style presentation in-arena in terms of being able to entertain the audience when there isn’t in-ring content or taped content happening as part of the television broadcast. We want to create a nice split between the live event and TV show, just to make that experience for those in the house feel a bit more special.”

AEW Preparing For NXT Head-To-Head

On November 6th, AEW will go head-to-head for the first time since October 8th. On that occasion, it was AEW moving from its usual night and Dynamite was soundly beaten by an NXT episode packed with main roster talent. The October 8th episode of Dynamite was the lowest-rated episode of the show in its history.

While NXT is loading its upcoming episode at the famous ECW Arena with ECW legends, Dynamite is also a stacked affair. The show will feature an appearance from the Hurt Syndicate and the likes of Adam Cole, Jamie Hayter, and more will be in action.

Elsewhere, Orange Cassidy will team with Darby Allin to face PAC and Claudio Castagnoli.
