AEW Title Match Ends In Heartbreak At Double Or Nothing

Willow Nightingale Stokely Hathaway Kris Statlander AEW

One AEW champion lost more than their title at Double Or Nothing after suffering a cruel betrayal after their match.

In recent months Willow Nightingale, Kris Statlander, and Stokely Hathaway have formed a lovable, if unlikely, group in AEW. Having each other’s back helped launch Nightingale to success and winning the TBS Championship from Julia Hart at Dynasty. But it seems dark plans had been in the works all along.

At Double Or Nothing, Mercedes Mone defeated Willow Nightingale for the TBS Title but things could have been so very different. At one point in the match, Nightingale appeared to have the match won but Hathaway had – seemingly inadvertently – distracted the referee, giving Mone the opportunity to recover. Hathaway appeared upset with his error but after the match, things soon became a lot clearer.

After her loss, Hathaway argued with Nightingale in the ring before he was pushed down by Kris Statlander who then began helping Nightingale up the ramp. However, Statlander then attacked her friend as Hathaway laughed with joy as he and Statlander finally showed their true colours.

In a video released on social media after the event, Stokely Hathaway would only say that he’s a hater and “she had it coming” while Kris Statlander urged fans to watch Dynamite if they wanted an explanation for her shocking betrayal.
