AEW Files Three Interesting New Trademarks

Tony Khan AEW

AEW has filed some new trademarks featuring the same word three times.

Tony Khan is the AEW owner who also runs the company from a creative standpoint and has his fingerprints all over the brand when it comes to the name of their shows.

While some people may criticize the company’s on-screen product at times, AEW is doing very well considering they signed a massive TV/streaming deal with Warner Bros Discovery that will pay them over $500 million over the next three years.

It has been reported that AEW filed for three trademarks with the USPTO while using the word Maximum. The three trademarks that were filed were Maximum Carnage, Maximum Mayhem, and Maximum Combat.

The trademarks filed by AEW have the same descriptions:

Entertainment in the nature of wrestling contests; Entertainment services in the nature of live professional wrestling performances; Entertainment services in the nature of production of professional wrestling programs and events; Entertainment services in the nature of a television series in the field of professional wrestling; Entertainment services, namely, production and distribution of ongoing television programs in the field of professional wrestling.

What isn’t known is if AEW plans to use the three names for a new television show, a pay-per-view event, or simply an episode of television.

Tony Khan Focused On The Positives Of AEW

One of the harshest AEW critics is WWE Hall of Famer Eric Bischoff, who is the former President of WCW. During a recent interview, Tony Khan made it clear he didn’t care what Bischoff said about AEW while making a point to talk about what’s coming in AEW’s future.

“I don’t really care what he says. We have done really really well and we have a great thing going with AEW and something to be really proud of. We’re not only, for years to come, be doing shows on TBS and TNT, but we’re going to set the record for the longest run of pro wrestling ever on TNT.

It’s pretty amazing because for a company only five years old, we’ve accomplished so much. We set the world record for wrestling ticket sales and we’re just going into this new media rights deal that is historic and it hasn’t even kicked in yet.

Starting January 1, every week, you can watch Dynamite, still on TBS, but we’re going to be livestreaming on Max, which is a top streaming platform and, I think, the best streaming platform. We’re going to have AEW every Wednesday night and every Saturday night on Max, in addition to TNT.

It’s really important for us because cable is massive and massive for sports and wrestling. TNT and TBS are staples of cable, as Eric himself knows very well, but it’s really important for the future to also have a foothold in streaming, and that’s what we’re going to have now with AEW on Max. I think AEW is doing fantastic.”

The final AEW PPV of 2024 is called Worlds End on December 28th in Orlando.
