AEW Takes Returning Star’s Surname Away
One AEW star has undergone an official name change soon after they made their return to TV with new allies.
FTR turned on Adam Copeland at Dynasty as they failed to win the AEW Trios Championship. Dax Harwood’s frustrations had shone through in the weeks leading up to that match, with Cash Wheeler finally siding with his long-time partner in taking out Cope.
FTR tried to then attack Tony Schiavone on Collision before they ultimately turned on their recent ally Daniel Garcia. Their actions led to a one-week suspension and a fine, but now Harwood and Wheeler have someone fighting on their behalf.
AEW Takes Stokely’s Surname
On the April 23 edition of AEW Dynamite, FTR appeared with the missing Stokely Hathaway by their side. Hathaway interrupted Tony Schiavone to introduce FTR and vowed to get their fines reversed and suspensions expunged after their assault on Schiavone. After Wheeler made no apologies for also attacking Matt Menard and Angelo Parker, Harwood welcomed The Rock ‘N’ Roll Express into the ring so they could pay tribute to the WWE Hall of Fame team.
That went about as everyone expected, as FTR laid out Ricky Morton and Robert Gibson before showing off their new “Living Legend Killers” t-shirts. Morton then suffered a spike piledriver before The Paragon, Adam Cole, Kyle O’Reilly, and Roderick Strong ran FTR off.
Now, AEW has updated their roster page reflecting a name change for FTR’s new agent. He is listed as simply Stokely, removing his surname altogether.
