AEW’s Sting Yet To Discuss Potential WWE Crossover With Tony Khan

The chances of an agreement between WWE and AEW for Sting remain unclear.

On March 7, it was announced that Lex Luger would finally be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame. The former World Champion has been open about his desire to be inducted and recently discussed his ever-improving relationship with the company.

The announcement immediately sparked speculation on who would induct Luger with many fans hoping it would be Sting. Luger and The Icon have been friends for decades, and the former credits Sting with helping get his life back on track after battles with alcohol and drugs.

However, given Sting’s deal with AEW, those same fans wondered whether he would be able to appear on WWE television, even if it was for a good cause.

A recent report suggested that WWE was planning to make overtures for the veteran, but his status remains unclear.

Sting Hasn’t Discussed Hall Of Fame With AEW

During a media call ahead of AEW Dynasty, Alex Hunt of Inside The Ropes asked Tony Khan about the possibility of Luger being inducted by his great friend and former tag team partner. In response, the AEW boss said he’s yet to discuss the issue with Sting.

“I’m not sure. I’m very focused on AEW Dynasty. I talked to Sting recently before AEW Revolution, looking back on some great memories. We caught up on the phone right around the pay-per-view and that was the last time we had spoken. Haven’t heard from him about that.

Certainly, he’s doing very well, and that relationship and friendship means so much to me, and we’re all very grateful for Sting. The last time I talked to Sting, that didn’t come up. Would have to talk to him about that,”

Elsewhere during the call, Tony Khan backed a recent report into viewing figures for AEW Dynamite. Khan noted that while streaming figures are kept tightly under wraps, the numbers reported are consistent with what he’s heard.
