AEW Star’s Life Saved In The Ring After Disastrous Moment

One AEW star should consider themselves extremely lucky as their life was apparently saved by another wrestling star in a recent match.

AEW Summer Blockbuster was another huge night of action where The Hurt Syndicate were at full strength as MJF, Bobby Lashley, and Shelton Benjamin were to team together in a trios match. That first time team were set to battle Speedball Mike Bailey, Komander, and Kevin Knight, but that is not what ended up happening.

AEW aired a segment from earlier in the day where Komander was the victim of a brutal backstage attack at the hands of The Hurt Syndicate. The group took his mask and left him lying in a heap.

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful then reported that Komander had been legitimately injured and pulled from the match earlier in the day.

AEW’s Komander Avoided Certain Disaster

Now on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer has confirmed what happened to Komander, and it seems the star narrowly missed a major disaster:

He was wrestling on Sunday, he was doing the rope walk thing and the Fosbury, he got all the way through the ropes, slipped when he was trying to do the Fosbury, essentially, Ultimo Guerrero saved his life. But he was hurt.

I don’t know the severity of it; the last word I heard was he’s not expected to be back for the Arena Mexico show on the 20th, which was his next really big match. It was gonna be El Sky Team defending the CMLL World Trios Titles against Hologram, Bandido, and Komander so they’re gonna need a new guy in that match.
