Two AEW Stars Join Kyle Fletcher In Signing Multi-Year Contracts
Kyle Fletcher isn’t the only star who has signed a new AEW contract.
Following Collision on August 9, it was reported that Kyle Fletcher had signed a new “big money” long-term AEW contract. The deal is said to be especially noteworthy as it’s particularly lucrative for a star of Fletcher’s age.
Fletcher has been flying high in recent months, impressing fans and critics as he comes into his own as a singles star after years as a tag team wrestler. This saw him beat Dustin Rhodes for the TNT Championship in a brutal Street Fight.
Two Stars Follow Kyle Fletcher’s Example
On the August 13 episode of Dynamite, it was announced that Kenny Omega will team with Darby Allin, Hiroshi Tanahashi, Kota Ibushi, and Will Ospreay to face the Young Bucks, the Death Riders, and Gabe Kidd in a huge Lights Out Steel Cage Match at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door.
Following the show, Ibushi took to Instagram to reveal that he’s signed a new two-year contract with AEW.
“This was incredible! A turning point in my life. I never thought I’d get to ride in a private jet! And I signed a two-year contract renewal. I still want to live, but I have no choice but to live. I can’t imagine myself still wrestling at 45. What else do I want? I don’t know,
I have a dream to live and live this kind of pro wrestling! Back in the day when I was little.
Just not just good 99% hell you won’t get there. How tough that 99% hell is was far above imagination. From training and daily living. Just don’t look down. Up the top. Still not enough not like this!!”
Meanwhile, as reported by Fightful Select, Hook has also quietly signed a new multi-year contract. It had earlier been reported that the second-generation star has secured the services of in-demand agent Barry Bloom, but interestingly, the report notes that the new agreement was reached before Bloom became involved.
A new vignette for Hook aired on the August 13 edition of AEW Dynamite, confirming that he’ll soon be back on television. Aside from a brief cameo at Double or Nothing, the star has been out since suffering a concussion in early April.
