Two AEW stars wanted to lose at All In.

The Young Bucks are no longer AEW EVPs (on television) after losing to Will Ospreay and Swerve Strickland at All In.

The match proved to be one of the highlights of the entire event, as Ospreay and Strickland united after putting their rivalry to one side for the greater good. That’s not to say that the union wasn’t tested in the ring, as Ospreay inadvertently took out Strickland as the match reached its final stages

However, Strickland looked at the bigger picture instead of seeking immediate revenge, and ensured he and Ospreay emerged victorious.

The Young Bucks Wanted To Lose At AEW All In

According to a new report from Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the Young Bucks pushed hard to lose the match at All In. However, an alternate ending involving Ospreay and Strickland losing was “absolutely discussed and considered” as it was felt this would build long-term anticipation.

“We do know The Young Bucks were pretty adamant about losing, but in the end, it was going to be Khan’s decision.”

The report noted that there was a feeling that the Young Bucks as authority figures storyline had run its course, and it was time to position them back as one of the company’s leading tag teams.

Elsewhere in the Observer, it was reported that Will Ospreay’s injuries are “worse than he thought” as he prepares to meet doctors in the United States in the coming days.
