An AEW original will be out of contract soon.

Throughout 2025, AEW and Tony Khan have earned praise from fans and industry insiders for the growth of the women’s division. This has seen “Timeless” Toni Storm and Mercedes Mone establish themselves as two of the biggest stars in all of pro wrestling, with a raft of talented wrestlers coming up behind them.

Those two names are now backed up by the likes of Jamie Hayter, Willow Nightingale, Thekla, and Megan Bayne, who are all capable of holding World Championship gold.

Then there are stars such as AEW original Anna Jay, who have continued to improve and grow, turning themselves into valuable players in the division.

Jay signed with the company in 2019 and appeared as part of The Dark Order and later found success teaming with Tay Melo. They eventually went their separate ways, and Jay joined the Jericho Appreciation Society, but TayJay reunited in mid-2025.

AEW Original Facing Uncertain Future

According to a new report from Fightful Select, Anna Jay’s contract expires in the “next few months.” There’s no word on whether negotiations have taken place, but it’s believed that the company would like her to stay.

More recently, Jay has continued to team with Melo as part of the Women’s Tag Team Championship tournament. However, despite their experience as a team, they fell to Marina Shafir and Megan Bayne in the first round.

Shafir and Bayne will now face “Timeless” Toni Storm and Mina Shirakawa, the newly anointed Timeless Love Bombs, in the semi-finals.

In the other semi-final, Willow Nightingale and Harley Cameron, now known as the Babes of Wrath, will meet the Sisters of Sin, Julia Hart and Skye Blue.

However, before then, all four teams will square off in a four-way match at Full Gear with the winner choosing the stipulation for their semi-final clash.
