AEW Star’s Chances Of Joining WWE After Contract Expiry Revealed
An AEW star was recently reported to be open to exploring other options when their contract ended.
An earlier report by Fightful Select revealed that Anna Jay’s contract was up sometime in Spring 2026. However, Dave Meltzer’s fresh claim via Wrestling Observer Newsletter states that her deal is up in early 2026.
Jay has been absent from TV since last being featured on the November 19 episode of Collision, where she and Tay Melo lost to Marina Shafir and Megan Bayne in the quarter-final of the Women’s World Tag Team Title tournament.
Anna Jay’s contract is up early in the new year and talk is that she’s open to other options. It is notable she hasn’t been on television since losing in the tag team tournament. And she’s not on the women focused on.
Meltzer went on to write that if the AEW star refused to sign a new deal, she could be kept off TV for a lengthy duration.
If she doesn’t sign a new deal, I would doubt she would be put back on television since that’s Tony Khan’s M.O.
Could Anna Jay Be Signed By WWE After AEW Contract Ends?
In the newsletter, Dave Meltzer further discussed Anna Jay’s chances of joining WWE once her AEW contract ends.
In doing so, he wrote that the Stamford promotion often opts for top-tier talents from other promotions like All Elite Wrestling and Total Nonstop Action, but could make an exception if they could feature a particular wrestler in a major storyline.
Obviously WWE, but WWE has of late only expressed interest in people they see as top of the line talent from AEW or TNA… talent from each side that has inquired has been told they are full.
There are always exceptions if they think you are a difference maker.
He even stated that should WWE hire the 27-year-old, she would most definitely start in NXT.
She’d start almost for sure in NXT, and while everyone gets the honeymoon pop, NXT is so loaded and also filled with so many top level athletes. [H/T: Ringside News]
