AEW Star References WWE’s Blake Monroe Before Huge Title Match

One AEW star just can’t forget about WWE’s Blake Monroe ahead of a historic title match.

Blake Monroe has found success since joining WWE, where she is the current NXT Women’s North American Champion. Monroe wasn’t always known by that name, however, as fans might be more familiar with her as Mariah May.

Under that moniker, the English star found success in AEW, where she held the AEW Women’s World Championship as part of an epic feud with Toni Storm that spanned May’s entire time in the company.

Originally, May was a loyal fan of Storm’s, trying to learn everything she could from the Timeless star. However, at the first opportunity to claim Storm’s title for herself, Mariah May turned on her mentor in a sickening attack. Storm wasn’t the only one who felt the wrath of May, however, as she eventually turned her back on longtime friend Mina Shirakawa as well.

AEW’s Mina Shirakawa Still Has Blake Monroe On Her Mind

Shirakawa has not forgotten about what happened at Winter Is Coming in 2024, as she took to social media to vow a different outcome at this year’s event:

At 2025’s Winter Is Coming edition of Dynamite, Mina Shirakawa and Toni Storm will clash with Willow Nightingale and Harley Cameron, with the winners becoming the first-ever AEW Women’s Tag Team Champions.
