AEW Star Wins First Singles Match In Almost Two Years
AEW Collision was a big night for one particular AEW star.
The February 24th episode of AEW Collision was particularly noteworthy for one star in particular. On the show, Malakai Black wrestled his first singles match since June 2022, and not only that he defeated recent signing Brian Keith in a little over 10 minutes.
After the match, Mark Briscoe appeared with a kendo stick to take out House of Black stars Buddy Matthews and Brody King. However, the trio was quickly back in control and left Briscoe laying after a Black Mass and Gonzo Bomb.
Elsewhere on the show, Powerhouse Hobbs defeated Sammy Guevara in a wild No Disqualification Match, Bryan Danielson got the better of Japanese legend Jun Akiyama, and there were wins for Serena Deeb, Thunder Rosa, Bang Bang Scissor Gang, and FTR.
Malakai Black Looking To Leave AEW
The longer he remained in the tag team and trio ranks, the more controversy surrounded the House of Black star. This led to reports that Malakai Black will be jumping to WWE as soon as he’s able alongside Buddy Matthews.
Malakai Black was known as Aleister Black in WWE while Buddy Matthews was known as Buddy Murphy. Both men were released by WWE on the 2nd of June 2021.
Black is married to current WWE star Zelina Vega while Matthews is engaged to WWE Women’s World Champion Rhea Ripley.
