Hook is looking for revenge.

Ahead of AEW Dynamite’s 5th Anniversary show, the company announced that Taz had been assaulted in the parking lot and was being treated by doctors. Because of the attack, Taz was unable to announce the show and was replaced by Nigel McGuinness.

The announcer later addressed the assault, promising there would be “HELL to pay,” but he wouldn’t be the one collecting. Instead, on the following episode of Collision, his son, Hook, called out the perpetrator. The young star told the attacker to stop hiding and face him on the special Title Tuesday edition of Dynamite on October 8th in Spokane, Washington.

“I’m gonna keep this real simple. Whoever attacked my father, I’m calling you out. Spokane. Title Tuesday. Dynamite. No More hiding. Come and say it to my face.”

Why Did Taz Really Miss AEW Dynamite?

The real reason for Taz’s absence has now been revealed. The announcer has previously been open about his physical struggles, admitting he needs surgery on both of his knees and both shoulders.

The assault was done as a way to write him off TV to deal with one of those ailments, with Taz reportedly set to undergo knee replacement surgery which will leave him out of action for “a while.”
