AEW Star Wants Submission Match With Mercedes Mone
AEW star Deonna Purrazzo has named Mercedes Mone as her dream opponent.
The former three-time TNA Knockouts Champion joined AEW in January 2024 and has since featured in prominent feuds with the likes of ‘Timeless’ Toni Storm and Thunder Rosa.
Having started her career in 2012, Purrazzo has fought around the world against a host of top name opponents such as Britt Baker, Asuka and Bayley, but has revealed that her dream opponent is still missing from that list.
During recent interview with Stephanie Chase, the New Jersey native revealed that a submission bout with Mercedes Mone is top of her wishlist:
“We had never crossed paths before. Obviously, we knew each other and if I was up for Raw or SmackDown or was an extra, we would say hello, but in terms of getting to know each other and sharing a locker room with each other, wrestling each other, that’s never happened.
I feel that’s on the bucket list for me. My dream match with her would be a submission match. We both cemented our careers on kind of being submission specialists.
She has won championships all over the world with her submission, and so have I. If we were to work together, that would be my ultimate match, a submission match with Mercedes Mone.”
Mercedes Mone Kept Divorce Secret From Vince McMahon
Mercedes Mone recently revealed that she kept her divorce from WWE costume designer Sarath Thon a secret from former Chairman, Vince McMahon.
The former Sasha Banks split from Thon in late 2020 after four years of marriage but opted to keep it a secret from then-WWE boss McMahon through fears that it would dent a potential opportunity to headline WrestleMania.
