AEW Star Reached Out To Triple H After Disastrous WWE Exit
One AEW star has admitted they reached out to Triple H before deciding on their wrestling future after their time in WWE had come to an abject end.
Big Bill is best known to WWE fans as Big Cass and he was once part of a wildly popular tag team with Enzo Amore. His time in WWE came to an end in 2018 despite an initial push as a singles star after he allegedly disobeyed direct orders from Vince McMahon.
Big Bill has since opened up about the addiction issues that plagued his life around this time. Bill went to WWE-sponsored rehab to help overcome his illness and that played on his mind as he considered reigniting his wrestling career in TNA instead of returning to work for Triple H.
Big Bill Wanted To Avoid Triple H Insult
Speaking to Chris Jericho on Talk Is Jericho, Big Bill explained how he was encouraged to reach out to Triple H by a current WWE star and the man in charge was nothing but supportive of Bill’s choice:
I talked briefly to Finn when Impact offered me to go there. I was like, ‘WWE has done so much for me in terms of rehab and they’ve paid a lot of money. I don’t want to insult them.’ He said, ‘Just talk to Hunter. He’ll understand.’
Before I went to Impact, I texted Hunter and wanted to let them know, super appreciative. ‘I’m super appreciative. I’m not ready to come back to WWE. I want to go do this. Down the road, we’ll see.’ He was super cool about it. That’s exactly what he said, ‘Do what you have to do, down the road.’ That’s the only time I reached out to them at that point.
Big Bill also revealed that one of his AEW tag teams was put together by CM Punk shortly before Punk was fired from the company.
