A top AEW star was suspended after upsetting MJF.

As AEW prepares for its biggest show of the year on August 25th, the last thing the company needs is more controversy. After all, All In 2023 will forever be remembered for the backstage fight between CM Punk and Jack Perry that saw the former fired, and the latter suspended.

However, details appear to have snuck out concerning an incident involving Britt Baker, MJF, and his girlfriend Alicia Atout.

Baker only returned to AEW at Forbidden Door after a lengthy absence. On the show, she confronted Mercedes Mone and it’s since been announced the pair will meet for Mone’s TBS Title at Wembley Stadium.

Britt Baker Gets On Wrong Side Of MJF

Writing in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer noted that Baker was suspended for at least a week and as much as two for comments made about MJF and Atout. Meltzer claims Atout heard the comments and told MJF who promptly confronted Baker. The issue was then passed to HR who issued the suspension.

Britt Baker was suspended for either one or two weeks and fined by the company’s disciplinary committee. Details have been kept pretty quiet. It came from something backstage at the 7/17 Dynamite where Baker allegedly said something about MJF and Alicia Atout, MJF’s girlfriend heard it and told him and he confronted Baker.

This led to an investigation with HR talking to people on 7/24 and I believe the disciplinary committee that did the investigation recommended that. I don’t know if Tony Khan was or wasn’t involved in this and everyone was attempting to keep this under wraps.

This all stems from problems in the past that weren’t addressed and a committee was put together to settle these things quickly. Most of those we heard from were sympathetic to her in this situation.

At All In, MJF is due to defend the American Title against Will Ospreay.
