AEW Star Was Supposed To Be Current WWE Character
One AEW star has revealed that he was meant to originally portray a current WWE character.
SmackDown’s tag team scene has been something of a strength for the blue brand despite it being often overlooked. The Wyatt Sicks recently captured the WWE Tag Team Championship from the Street Profits, but DIY, The Motor City Machine Guns, and Fraxiom have all combined to provide some great matches on SmackDown in recent months.
Fraxiom – the combination of Nathan Frazer and Axiom – was called up to WWE’s main roster after WrestleMania 41. During their time in NXT, they captured the NXT Tag Team Championship on two occasions. But it seems things could have been very different.
AEW’s Blake Christian Was Meant To Be Axiom
Speaking on Fightful’s In The Weeds, AEW star Blake Christian revealed that he was originally meant to be Axiom when he was part of the NXT roster back in 2021:
I was supposed to be, yes. I came up with all the stuff. I think the person they gave it to is great and he’s done a great job, maybe even better than I could have done. I’m happy to see it still alive and doing as well as it’s doing.
NXT UK star A-Kid ended up debuting as Axiom in WWE in July 2022.
