Another Major AEW Star Sidelined With Injury After Adam Cole
AEW’s Adam Cole is sidelined from action due to a severe injury.
The Panama City Playboy was scheduled to defend his AEW TNT Championship at All In Texas against Kyle Fletcher. But hours before his match, it was revealed that he would be unable to compete. Later in the show, Cole addressed the wrestling universe in a heartbreaking promo and apologized to the fans for disappointing them. He even hinted at potentially retiring from the ring altogether.
Cole’s injury forced him to vacate his title, which then led to a four-way match to crown the new TNT Champion. Dustin Rhodes won the match to become the new TNT Champion. His injury was already a big blow to AEW, and now another top performer from Tony Khan’s roster will be put on the shelf indefinitely.
Will Ospreay Reveals He’s Injured On AEW Dynamite
On the recent episode of Wednesday Night Dynamite, Will Ospreay revealed that he is suffering from two herniated disks in his neck, specifically at the C2 and C6 vertebrae, and these herniated disks are impacting his spinal cord.
He also admitted he had been privately battling neck issues for approximately 10 months. Still, he concealed them to fulfill his promise of helping Swerve Strickland and Hangman Adam Page to retrieve the AEW World Championship from Jon Moxley. He added that the injury was exacerbated during an attack by the Death Riders at All In: Texas, where he had a chair placed around his neck, and it was stomped on before being stretchered out of the arena.
After the incident, he was rushed to the ER and underwent MRI scans, which revealed two herniated disks that had intruded into his spinal cord. As bad as it sounds, the Aerial Assassin stated that every doctor he consulted described the injury as treatable. However, it requires immediate medical attention and rest away from in-ring competition. He aims to return in time for AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door, scheduled for August 24, 2025, in London.
