AEW Star Shuts Down Tony Khan’s Snowman Nickname
One AEW star has no idea where Tony Khan’s supposed Snowman nickname came from.
There seems to be no level that will remain unstooped during this ongoing wrestling war. WWE has constantly counter-programmed AEW shows, with Tony Khan recently forced to move All Out to avoid it going head-to-head with Wrestlepalooza. Although given WWE’s own partner’s reaction to the show, Khan might have wished he hadn’t bothered.
Dave Meltzer recently noted in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that things had taken a turn for the personal, suggesting that WWE’s creative team referred to Tony Khan as “Snowman.” Fans were quick to add meaning to the apparent nickname, although the story has been refuted.
Speaking on Inside The Ring, MVP was asked about the “Snowman” rumours and claimed to have no idea where it came from:
Not us. I don’t know where that came from, I don’t know who put that out there. The only snowman I know is Jeezy. That’s not anything I’ve ever called him or I haven’t heard that.
Tony Khan Making Big Announcement
Tony Khan is a huge fan of making big announcements. During the AEW All Out PPV in Toronto on Saturday, it was announced that Khan will have a big announcement on the September 24th edition of Dynamite.
Regarding what the announcement could be, Dave Meltzer wrote in a Daily Update on Wrestling Observer that it could be the introduction of AEW Women’s Tag Team Titles, which have already been made.
Most seem to think it’s women’s tag team titles and a tournament. I do know he made women’s tag title belts some time back and said injuries delayed starting the tournament.
