AEW Star Sends Emotional Message To Zoey Stark After Horrific Injury On WWE Raw

Zoey Stark WWE entrance

The wrestling world has come together in support of Zoey Stark.

Two qualifying matches for the Women’s Money In The Bank Ladder match were held on the May 19 edition of Raw, but the second ended in disaster.

During a Triple Threat Match, pitting Zoey Stark up against Rhea Ripley and Kairi Sane, Stark suffered an awful leg injury. While attempting to land a missile dropkick, Stark landed awkwardly and immediately screamed in pain.

The star was quickly attended to by medical staff and taken backstage.

Following the show, social media was flooded by messages of support from the star, with Rhea Ripley, Shane “Hurricane” Helms, Natalya, Kairi Sane, Bayley, and more all sending their best wishes. AEW star Thunder Rosa also reached out, sending her love to Stark.

Wrestling is a beautiful and dangerous sport. We give our all every time we step in the ring and we also risk a lot when we do what we love. @ZoeyStarkWWE I love you sister and I hope you recover soon 🫶🏾

Zoey Stark Injury Caused Changes

The match on Raw was Kairi Sane’s first since she was written off television back in December. Details around her hiatus were initially thin on the ground, but she later revealed that she tore a ligament in her thumb, which left her unable to do even simple tasks such as removing a bottle cap.

It didn’t go unnoticed by a number of fans online that Sane was the person to be pinned in the match, despite her only just returning. But that wasn’t the original plan.

According to a report following Raw, Zoey Stark was supposed to be pinned by Rhea Ripley, but plans had to be changed on the fly after she was removed from the match. As Ripley was the woman who needed to win, those involved were left with little choice on the outcome.
