AEW Star Says Adam Copeland Match Was A Dream Come True

Adam Copeland and Christian Cage are making dreams come true.

At All Out, Adam Copeland continued his reunion with Christian Cage as the pair took on FTR. But while the two veterans grabbed the win, they ended the night in despair.

The former AEW Tag Team Champions claimed victory after interventions from Kip Sabian, Nick Wayne, and Mother Wayne. This saw Copeland handcuffed to the ropes as Cage was taken out by a spike Piledriver.

The match also saw the AEW debut of Beth Copeland (Phoenix), who came to ringside to take care of Stokely Hathaway after he tried to get involved in the action. But that was as fun as her night got.

After trying to tend to her husband, Beth was also given a spike Piledriver by Harwood and Wheeler.

In a new interview with Mojo Muhtadi of TMZSports. FTR looked back on the match at All Out, describing it as a dream come true.

Harwood: “We were in Toronto, almost 15,000 people in Toronto for All Out, correct? All Out? Yeah. We have so many pay-per-views, I can’t remember. One of the greatest tag teams of all time, Adam (Copeland) and Christian (Cage), also known as Edge and Christian.

Big fan from the other company. Created TLC matches and it was an honor for us to step in the ring with them in Toronto in their home country, hometown, home state, home city. It was a dream come true.”

Wheeler: “Their first time tagging up in like what? 21 years? In Toronto. So, being able to be in Toronto in the ring and part of that match was really cool and the fact that we pretty much gave Adam his career back.

We helped him get over his neck injuries. We strengthened his neck enough for him to come back from retirement so, you’re welcome, Adam. So to be able to have that match in Toronto after all the history that we have together is really cool.”

Adam Copeland Stepping Back

Following the assault in the minutes after their loss to FTR, Copeland and Cage faced a crossroads on the next episode of Dynamite.

Eventually, Copeland told Cage he needed to take some time away from AEW to be with his family. He admitted that he didn’t know when he’d be back. It was reported after the show that Adam Copeland is due to begin work on season three of “Percy Jackson and the Olympians.”

Despite fan speculation linking Copeland with a shock return to WWE to face John Cena before he retires, the veteran remains under contract with AEW.
