AEW Star Returning To Ring After Nearly 2 Years Away
After two years on the sidelines, one AEW star is set to return to the ring.
Back in August, Sammy Guevara broke the news that Tay Melo has been cleared to return to AEW. The star last wrestled for the promotion in January 2023, and that November she and Guevara welcomed their first child into the world.
Now, the Melo has posted a video on social media announcing that she will finally return to the ring, but not in AEW. Instead, her comeback match will take place in STARDOM on January 3rd at the Japanese promotion’s New Year Dream event. In an inter-promotional bout, Melo will team with Mina Shirakawa to take on Thekla and ROH Women’s World Champion Athena.
“After two long years, I’m finally back. I could not ask for a better Christmas gift. I’m going to Japan, I’m going to STARDOM!”

In more inter-promotional action, two days after Melo makes her STARDOM debut, Sammy Guevara will compete at Wrestle Dynasty when he and Dustin Rhodes put the ROH Tag Team Titles on the line against NJPW’s Yoshinobu Kanemaru and SHO.
Another AEW Star Set For Return
It has been reported that Kenny Omega will finally return to AEW at Worlds End after a year out of action. The Best Bout Machine is already confirmed to compete at Wrestle Dynasty, but many were surprised he would not return in his home promotion. Now, it is thought that the “active plan” is for him to be at the company’s last PPV of the year on December 28th.
