AEW Star Ready To Return From Injury
AEW star Powerhouse Hobbs is set to make an in-ring return.
The former TNT Champion has been absent from the squared circle since late April after picking up a knee injury in a defeat to Jon Moxley in an IWGP World Heavyweight Championsip bout on the 24th April edition of AEW Dynamite.
According to a report by Fightful Select’s Sean Ross Sapp, Hobbs has been present at recent AEW tapings and has been put through his paces by the AEW medical team in an attempt to receive clearance for a full return to action.
The 33 year-old star, who joined AEW in 2020, was part of the Don Callis Family prior to his injury setback and is understood to be awaiting word from AEW creative before making his return.
AEW Star Critical Of Upcoming WWE Change
One top AEW star who remains active in the ring is TBS Champion, Mercedes Mone.
The 32 year-old star debuted in AEW in early 2024 in a deal that reportedly makes her the highest paid female star in the world.
Mone hit the headlines recently after being openly critical of the decision to reduce the air time of WWE Raw to 2 hours until its move to Netflix on 6th January 2025. Mone believes the move will limit on-screen opportunities for female talent.
