A big return has taken place on AEW Dynamite.

One of the biggest stories heading into AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door has seen Adam Copeland reunited with Christian Cage.

At All In Texas, Copeland made a surprise return to the AEW after missing several months. At the event, he helped Cage as he looked to get revenge on FTR, who had put him out of action.

Although Cage was initially uncertain and unrepentant for his previous actions, he eventually reunited with his long-time best friend. After Copeland came to the aid of Cage on the August 13 edition of Dynamite, it was announced that the pair will team to face Nick Wayne and Kip Sabian at Forbidden Door.

This will mark the first time the veterans have teamed together since 2011.

AEW Star Returns On Dynamite

At Dynamite in Glasgow, a video was played to the crowd featuring Nick Wayne, who explained that he’d broken his foot. However, he said that he was still one step ahead, and this brought out Killswitch, who chokeslammed Copeland and Cage.

The returning star will now team with Sabian to face Cage and Copeland at Forbidden Door.

Killswitch, also known as Luchasaurus, hasn’t wrestled since competing in the Casino Gauntlet Match at All In 2024. A little over a month later, the star collapsed at his home after suffering a serious bout of pneumonia.

A further report suggested he had suffered a series of complications, and doctors discovered calcification in a heart valve and that his body wasn’t producing enough iron. At the time, it was noted that Killswitch might never wrestle again.

In the days after Revolution back in March, it was reported that Killswitch almost returned at the event. According to the report, the star was backstage, and there were discussions about using him on-screen.
