AEW Star Would Have Re-Signed With WWE Had Triple H Been In Charge Of Creative
A current AEW star has admitted that they would have probably have re-signed with WWE had Triple H been head of creative at the time.
After Vince McMahon announced his retirement from WWE, a huge reshuffle in at the top of the company kicked into gear.
The changes saw Stephanie McMahon named Chairwoman and co-CEO alongside Nick Khan, while Triple H was installed as Head of Creative and Head of Talent Relations.
This has led to an incredible amount of speculation around a number of former NXT and WWE Superstars, suggesting that they could now be in-line for a return to the company. Interestingly, at least some of these stars have confirmed that if the current structure was in place, they wouldn’t have left the company.
“Numerous former NXT talents” said to Fightful Select that they believed they wouldn’t have been let go, had Triple H been in his current role at the time. Although, a couple did admit, that it wouldn’t have changed anything with regard to their careers.
Interestingly, a current AEW star said that while they’re happy they joined the company, they “probably would have re-signed with WWE before their deal was up” had Triple H been leading the main roster.
A free agent claimed that with Triple H and Stephanie McMahon in their current positions the possibility of them returning has “greatly increased.” Others hoped that previous relationships with the former DX star would at least lead to conversations about a return.
