AEW Star Earning Rave Reviews For Continental Classic Performance

Tony Khan Smiling AEW

An AEW star’s impressive performances haven’t gone unnoticed.

The 2024 Continental Classic is now well underway, with the standings in the Gold and Blue Leagues starting to take shape. However, plans for the tournament were quickly thrown into chaos, after Juice Robinson suffered an injury in his opening match against Will Ospreay.

It was quickly revealed that Robinson had a broken fibula and needed to be withdrawn.

This saw Komander pulled into the action, despite recently suffering more losses than wins. The star lost his most recent match at Full Gear, which meant his inclusion raised a few eyebrows.

However, that decision appears to have been vindicated.

Komander Continues To Impress In AEW

A new report from Fightful Select noted that Komander has been “getting positive reviews” for his performances in general, but especially following his two matches in the Continental Classic. The report added that other names were considered to take Juice Robinson’s spot, but exactly who remains unclear.

In his two matches in the tournament to date, Komander has lost to Ricochet and more recently Darby Allin in a wild contest on Collision.

As things stand, Kyle Fletcher sits at the top of the Blue League with nine points, and Claudio Castagnoli is on top of the Gold League with six points.
