One star was forced to miss a big match at AEW Summer Blockbuster due to a real injury that has put them on the shelf.

AEW Summer Blockbuster was another huge night of action where The Hurt Syndicate were at full strength as MJF, Bobby Lashley, and Shelton Benjamin were to team together in a trios match. That first time team were set to battle Speedball Mike Bailey, Komander, and Kevin Knight, but that is not what ended up happening.

AEW aired a segment from earlier in the day where Komander was the victim of a brutal backstage attack at the hands of The Hurt Syndicate. The group took his mask and left him lying in a heap.

Komander Pulled From AEW Match Late In The Day

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful then reported that Komander had been legitimately injured and pulled from the match earlier in the day. That was the reason AEW aired the attack from The Hurt Syndicate as a way to get him out of the bout.

Komander was replaced by Masacara Dorada, and after The Hurt Syndicate won the bout, MJF immediately unmasked Dorada to build to his Grand Slam Mexico match against Mistico on June 18th.
