AEW Star Pulled From Match Days After In-Ring Return
One AEW star has been pulled from a match after not being medically cleared despite making their return to the ring just days before.
Rey Fenix lost the AEW International Championship to Orange Cassidy back in October 2023 and was then not seen for months as he was believed to be battling an injury.
However, on the 27th of April edition of Collision, Fenix returned to battle with The Beast Mortos in his first match in six months. Rey Fenix picked up the win but now his immediate in-ring future seems to be up in the air once again.
Rey Fenix Pulled From Match Despite AEW Return
Fenix was set to battle his brother and tag team partner Penta El Zero Miedo at House of Glory’s Cinco de Mayo event on the 5th of May. However, during the show, Penta came to the ring to reveal that Fenix was not medically cleared to compete and he instead did battle with Laredo Kid in the night’s main event.
It is not known what injury Fenix is now suffering from and how long he is likely to be out of action this time around. Many fans will remember the former AEW World Tag Team Champion suffering a horrific injury back in January 2022 when his arm snapped during a ladder match against Jungle Boy Jack Perry and Luchasaurus.
