AEW Star Pulled From Forbidden Door Due To Injury (Spoiler)
A rising AEW star is out of action.
After spending months learning under the guidance of his “father,” Christian Cage, Nick Wayne turned on his mentor at All In Texas. This saw Wayne, FTR, and The Patricarchy attack Cage, only for the veteran to be saved by the returning Adam Copeland.
In the weeks that followed, Cage and Copeland finally got back on the same page, even if the reunion had at times appeared a little uneasy.
The end result was an announcement that Cage and Copeland would team together for the first time since 2011 to face Wayne and Kip Sabian at Forbidden Door.
AEW Star Suffers Injury
During the August 20 edition of Dynamite in Glasgow, Nick Wayne revealed that he wouldn’t be able to compete at Forbidden Door. In the backstage video, he explained that he’d suffered a broken foot, but despite that, he remained one step ahead.
This led to the shock return to television of Killswitch, who hadn’t been seen for over a year. The former Tag Team Champion then proceeded to Chokeslam Adam Copeland and Christian Cage.
There’s no word on how long Wayne will be out of action.
Killswitch, also known as Luchasaurus, hasn’t wrestled since competing in the Casino Gauntlet Match at All In 2024. A little over a month later, the star collapsed at his home after suffering a serious bout of pneumonia.
A further report suggested he had suffered a series of complications, and doctors discovered calcification in a heart valve and that his body wasn’t producing enough iron. At the time, it was noted that Killswitch might never wrestle again.
