AEW Star Being Protected From Giving Too Much In The Ring

MVP AEW

One AEW star is being protected from giving their opponents too much offence in the ring.

Since joining AEW, MVP, Shelton Benjamin, and Bobby Lashley have had one goal in mind – hurting people. The Hurst Syndicate captured the AEW Tag Team Championship in dominant fashion amid suggestions that the group was refusing to lose to certain teams.

Eventually, Lashley and Benjamin did lose the gold to Brodido in a three-way match that saw FTR pinned for the title change to happen. The Demand defeated the full force of The Hurt Syndicate in a trios match at All Out before MVP’s group gained a measure of revenge in a number one contender’s bout for the AEW Trios Title at WrestleDream.

The Hurt Syndicate failed, however, to win that gold as they lost out to the reigning champions, The Opps.

AEW Star Labels Bobby Lashley “The Black Brock Lesnar”

Speaking on his Marking Out podcast, MVP discussed how big men should be protected in the ring and revealed that he’s the one who stops Bobby Lashley from taking certain moves in the ring:

That’s kind of how me and Bobby ended up together [in WWE] too because Bobby’s way too nice for the damage that he can do. He’s one of the nicest guys around. And Bobby’s way too giving.

So, you know, guys will want to do stuff to Bobby and Bobby will be like, ‘Ehh’ and I’ll be like ‘No. No. You can’t do that to him.’ Bobby will just be like, ‘Talk to P.’ Like, no. Would you do that to Brock Lesnar? No. Well, that’s Black Brock Lesnar. So, no you can’t suplex him. No, you can’t powerbomb him. Not you. So, protect your size, protect being a giant.

MVP also revealed the best wrestling advice he ever heard was something that The Wild Samoans told former WWE Champion, Batista:

If you’re big and jacked up and got all the muscles, you ain’t got to do all that flipping and flying sh*t because nobody — you look like, ‘Oh sh*t, he’s going to whoop some ass.’ Work like that.
