AEW Star Officially Out Of Action With Knee Injury
An AEW star is out of action.
Tony Khan has announced that Rush is out of action after suffering a knee injury. As a result, the star is no longer medically cleared to compete at ROH Final Battle on December 5, where he’d been due to challenge for the ROH World Title.
Rush last wrestled on the November 15 episode of Collision, where he teamed with Sammy Guevara and FTR to take on Mike Bailey, Kevin Knight, Bandido, and Juice Robinson.
There’s no word on the severity of the injury and how long Rush might be out of action.
AEW Boss Tony Khan Forced Into Changes
With Rush out, Bandido will now defend the World Title against The Beast Mortos, Komander, Hechicero, Sammy Guevara, and Blake Christian in a Survival of the Fittest Match.
At least for the time being, Rush will remain one half of the ROH World Tag Team Champions with Guevara, with Tony Khan stating that a decision on the titles will be taken soon. The pair won the titles at Death Before Dishonor after they’d been declared vacant following an injury to Dustin Rhodes.
Guevara had held the titles with Rhodes for just over a year.
Elsewhere on the show, Mercedes Mone will defend the Women’s World Television Championship against Red Velvet, and Athena puts the Women’s World Championship on the line against Persephone.
The CMLL star recently unsuccessfully challenged Mone for the CMLL Women’s World Title.
