AEW Star Not Leaving After Show Cancelled

Tony Khan AEW

One AEW star is not going anywhere despite a long-running show being cancelled, so fans can rest easy once again.

The final edition of the era-defining Hey! (EW) aired on December 7th as RJ City brought his cult hit to a close. During the show, City, clearly not concerned about his future job prospects, was seen lowering his voice and trying to produce Eddie Kingston’s entrance in a style not dissimilar to Triple H.

An increasingly baffled Kingston demanded that City speak in his own voice and generally leave him alone. City’s parting show was that he’d “Send him down to Orlando for a couple of weeks” so he could really nail his entrance.

RJ City then spoofed the portion of WWE Unreal that saw Triple H explain in granular detail the series of phone calls he made in relation to John Cena turning heel in early 2025. In City’s case, he had to run a certain joke past Tony Khan, former WCW Champion David Arquette, Bryan Danielson, Jim Ross, and Big Justice.

RJ City Remaining With AEW

RJ City has also brought an end to his long-running “Coffee In His Underwear” YouTube series, leading many fans to raise questions about his future.

Fightful Select has now eased the worries of the masses by reporting that RJ City is not jobless. The report noted that the scenes with Kingston were filmed at WrestleDream, meaning that everyone knew Hey! (EW) was ending as far back as then. It was said that City also brought his own YouTube show to an end at the same time for a clean sweep. He is still part of AEW and under contract – despite never getting an All Elite graphic – and will continue hosting Zero Hour with Renee Paquette.
