AEW Star Not Happy With Promo Ahead Of Huge Show
One AEW star is not happy following the promotion of Tony Khan’s company heading down under for a huge show in 2025.
On August 14th it was reported that All Elite Wrestling could be heading to Australia in 2025. The report suggested that AEW was looking at potential venues in Melbourne, Sydney, and Brisbane but details remained scarce. Although the company has been quiet on the rumours since they went public, Tony Khan revealed plans for an event in Australia are underway and fans down under didn’t have to wait long for details of a huge show.
On the pre-show for All In, AEW announced that Grand Slam was heading to the Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane, Australia on February 15th 2025.
The stadium is home to the NRL’s Brisbane Broncos and the A-League’s Brisbane Roar, boasting a capacity of 52,500. The stadium attendance record is currently held by Ed Sheeran who filled the venue with 59,185 fans.
AEW Star Unhappy With Australia Trailer
To celebrate ESPN Australia & New Zealand posted a trailer to announce that they will be broadcasting Grand Slam and will begin broadcasting AEW Collision every week beginning on September 1st. But The House of Black’s Buddy Matthews – a native Aussie – was unhappy about one omission:
With not one Australian represented in the package!

In addition to Matthews, Kyle Fletcher, Mark Davis, Harley Cameron, and Timeless Toni Storm all hail from Australia while Jay White is a native of New Zealand.
Matthews’ wife Rhea Ripley was front and centre when WWE held the huge Elimination Chamber show in Perth Australia in February 2024. Ripley headlined that event where she retained her Women’s World Championship against Nia Jax.
